Summary
The Minerals and Mining Act (2007) is the primary law governing Nigeria's mining sector. The law regulates all aspects of the exploration and exploitation of solid minerals in Nigeria. Other substantive laws within the regulatory framework for the mining sector can be found below. The law is available only in English and there are no official translations into other languages. The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development is the government regulating entity in the mining sector. The country's mining contracts are available at: https://www.resourcecontracts.org.
