Summary
The Mines and Minerals Act (Law No.25/2023) regulates all matters in relation to prospecting, exploration and mining of minerals in Malawi. Other substantive laws within the regulatory framework for the mining sector can be found below. The official version of the primary law is in English and there are no official translations of this law into other languages. The government regulating entity is the Ministry of Mining (https://www.mining.gov.mw/). The country’s mining contracts are not available at resourcecontracts.org.
