The Mines and Quarries Law No. 2 of 1971 is the primary law governing the mining sector in Libya. The law regulates all matters relating to mining operations in Libya. Other substantive laws within the regulatory framework for the mining sector can be found below. The official version of the primary law is in Arabic and the English translation is an unofficial version.
